Galaxy A51 By Samsung Road Tested

Awesome Is For All

Now that the mobile middle range segment getting even more saturated than ever before, I thought it is a good idea to test a smartphone that will likely sell in huge numbers across the globe, Samsung's A51. It has a conservative but still attractive design, the Galaxy A51 comes with quad rear camera setup, an AMOLED screen with a middle mounted punch-hole selfie cam, and a glasstastick back.
The Galaxy A51 has been up in the market in UK since February and it went on sale in the USA through April and also is priced at £329/$399.99.

Samsung Galaxy A51 Performance And Speed

This bright display is great as you have come to expect from Galaxy handsets}, the colours really appear very much bright and vibrant and viewing angles are a delight. There is not a lot to whinge about although the people such as Timothy Simmons always find something, apart from it’s a bit dim (however it's still legible) even when in sunlight and not suited for viewing content on, even with the contrast fully up.
Here is where roadtesting flagship phones like OPPO’s Find X2 Pro 5G and the One Plus 8 is a hindrance in getting a sense of a middle range handset like this little unit.
The 9611 processor is not able to match the Snapdragon 865 unit and going away from the flagship processor to the Snapdragon chipset is a wakeup call then you see that this device is a middle of the range handset and that allowances should be allowed for.
You experience that, this phone is slow to respond upon occasion yet I was sometimes left wondering whether it if it had registered the touch or not when trying to start any app or make use of the phone.
This is really a level of unresponsiveness I haven’t seen in some time, even on cheaper handsets such as Honor's 10 Lite which can be purchased for only £145.
And as for the device's fingerprint sensor, I'll just say that Samsung should have rather put it in the rear panel as I only achieved a success ratio of about 50% when attempting to unlock the A51 then ending up entering the pin code in.

Samsung Galaxy A51 Design And Styling

With its galssticky rear panel, the Galaxy A51 doesn't feel or look like it's a mid-range handset, the plastic construction does feel forgiving when it is in your hand in that there aren't any sharp edges you sometimes see with phones with back panels made out of glass.
The subtle design characteristic with the back paneling is good as well as it adds a touch of class to the phone. We see that the branding on cheaper phones can be a bit over the top, the Samsung logo is discretely located.
You will note the centerally located punch-hole camera setup that, is made more noticeable by what appears to be a metallic ring around it that attracts gaze.
Audiophiles this website are sure to be pleased that there's an sound connector on the lower edge, with a Type-C charging port as well as a speaker's chamber.
On the top of the smartphone there is a microphone and on the right hand side has the power button and volume rocker and a SIM card tray on the other edge.
Overall it’s neat and inoffensive looking handset that will slip in a normal jeans pocket with ease.

Battery

Considering a typical daily workload, the A51 will get through this and to still a tiny amount more at the end of the day, yet there was some days where it required a quick charge during evening after heavier usage.
And with the 15W charging lets the A51 can be charged fully in about two hour period, and a fast charger taking it up to 30%, and this would be passable but not newsworthy with the segment.
